Amplifier Xover
I have one 800w Alpine Sub What amp should I get?
the sub says it has a nominal power of 150, I'm assuming that is the RMS power. I need to know what kind of Amp I should get. I originally had a 1000w pyramid amp which didn't work very well at the beginning and has now crapped out on me. I was hoping to get something 100$ or less. I was considering http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-ZX250-2-CAR-AUDIO-250W-2CH-AMP-AMPLIFIER-XOVER-/400126448616?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item5d296513e8#ht_3690wt_1137
I messed up, it's a Pioneer sub, here is a link to the sub, http://www.modifiedlife.com/pioneer-ts-w302r-12-inch-subwoofer-reviews-and-ratings/

this is a pretty good amp that will match your rms perfectly for that sub at 4 ohms, and if you wanted to get a second later you can jsut drop wire it up in parallel and then teh amp will put out around 280 watts and run both cleanly without you haveing to buy another amp
the kicker will only put out 85 watts per channel when you break it back down into 2 channels.
i would be wary of using the kicker amp for jsut one sub, pioneer doesn't really have a reputation for vastly overrating their sub, so running nearly double the power would be ill advised in my opinion
