Channel Amplifier

Posted on Monday, December 6, 2010 in Car Amplifiers

How do I install a 4 channel amplifier?

Ok i have a 1200 watt 4-channel amplifier, im currently running a single Alpine type-r off of channels 1 and 2 bridged.

I want to use the other two channels to power my rear speakers and have had no luck getting it to work. Ive recently read that you need to have a total of 4 RCAs (one for each channel) running to the amp. But my head unit only has 2 RCA outputs. What do i do about this?

Also is this an odd setup and would it sound crappy only having 2 speakers running from my amp?

I don't think you need 4 separate RCA's for each channel because it's only one amp correct.
Try running the speakers off of channels 1and 2,then bridge the sub off of channels 3 and 4.
If you could provide what kind of amp it is maybe we can help better.
