Is it possible to plug up a 1200 watt device to a car battery?
I have a fog machine that I need to use in the woods, but it's 1200 watts. I wanted to know if it would be possible to somehow plug this machine into my cigarette lighter and or directly into my car battery.
That will depend on a few things. Check the amperage of your alternator a 1200 w device @ 13.8 V DC would be around 87A, so make sure you have enough available current to supply the machine. If your car support that amount of power consumption, you still need to get a power inverter (convert DC to AC) that is 1200w or more of power.
