Subs Combo

Which sub combo would be better?

I am planning to get some subs, right now i can get 2 15" kicker l7 with 4000watt peak or get 3 pioneer TS-W3002D4 which all together has a peak wattage of 10 500, but i don't want to go to pioneer unless i know that it will be as good and reliable as kicker. Any thoughts? And i can get both those deals for about the same price just if anybody wants to bring price as a factor.

Well first off, peak/max power means NOTHING whatsoever, its a made up number. RMS/nominal/continous is the number you want to look at.

That being said, it doesnt matter how many watts a subwoofer is, unless you have the amp to power it... the amp makes the wattage, the sub just handles it.

I would honestly rather have the pioneers myself, the sound quality is arguably much better. Most people on this site will say kicker, either because they dont know any better, or they are young and just like loud boomy subs, etc. The L7's arent bad at all, but I think you would be happy with both setups. Remember, the amp is just as important! And box, too. The 15" L7's require a pretty big box.

Pioneer has been a great brand forever, reliable, just like kicker.
