Infinity Basslink
Can I install a Powered Subwoofer using my stock head unit?
I have a 1998 Cadillac Deville Concours, and I want to add an Infinity BassLink T, which is a powered Sub, in the trunk. But I do not want to have to replace my stock head unit because I want to keep the stock look to it. Is it possible to wire everything up without much hassle? Or do I need to buy some adapters and stuff? Or do I have no choice but to buy an aftermarket head unit?
if you buy an rca adapter you can run the sub. you will have to run the wires from the rca adapter to a speaker in the car, preferably speakers that put out bass frequencies. there will be two wires connected directly to the speaker that you will have to attach the rca adapter wires to. then run the rca's to an amp and then connect the sub to the amp and everything will work fine. rca adapters usually run around 10 to 15 bucks. since it is a powered sub i dont know if you will need an amp i dont think so and you may be able to just run speaker wire from the speakers in the car to the sub itself,
