What movie is this from?

I watched a movie a few months ago that had at least one part set in the desert. There was a scene in there that involved a group of soldiers (Nazis, I think) talking to a Sheik about getting a tank and some soldiers in exchange for money or gold, but he turns that down; instead asking for their Mercedes-Benz roadster after naming off some of its technical specs.

I am at a loss to remember what actors were in this movie or when it was made. I have a feeling it was not a new movie, probably made in the 70's or 80's and set in the 30's or 40's, but that too may be wrong.

If anyone can answer this really random question, I would be incredibly indebted to them. It's driving me crazy, I can't focus on my work or anything.
I have a feeling I watched this movie in school, so it likely had religious or historical significance.

that sounds to me like indiana jones, i'm thinking it is the last crusade. i know exactly what scene you're talking about. the sheik turns the deal down and starts walking towards the car telling him how fast it accelerates etc. i'm pretty sure it's in one of the indiana jones movies, and i know for a fact there is a tank fight scene in the last crusade, so i believe it would be that one. the indiana jones movies were done in the 80's and 2 of the 3 jones films (last crusade, and raiders of the lost arch) have nazis in them. they all take place in that time period though. i hope this helps.

and no, it definately is not sahara. sahara has no nazi's, takes place in modern times. it does have a classic car in it, but there is no trade made for the car...
