why is my amp overheating?how can i set it so it wont happen?
i have a CADENCE ZRS-1502 COMPETITION 1000w 2 CHAN AMPLIFIER HOOKED TO 2 OHM
T1 ROCKFORD FOSGATE JUST 1 SUB and i recently went on a little drive for like 2 hours and after an hour and a half the amp cut out.i was able to turn it back on but i didn't want to burn it up so i left it off for the rest of the drive.the gain is set to half and i have it set to full range am i overworking my amp? i am driving back to michigan from florida and i would like to listen to my sub on the way home without the amp cutting out can somebody tell how i can set my amp to run for long periods of time like more than a hour?will it help if i set my amp to low pass?and can anyone tell me what to set my subsonic level too?i bought a competition amp for a reason i would like to be able to listen to it for long periods of time can anyone help me ?
Set the subsonic level to about 35hz. Definitely take it off "full range" and put it to LP. Wire your sub like this http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard/1_2ohmDVC_4ohm.gif and bridge it on your amp for the 600rms load your looking for.
