How do you get the hood to a car open when the cable is broken?
I'm 14 years old and I just got my first car. My Grand Parents couln't fix all the stuff wrong with it so they gave it to me. It is a VolksWagen Karmann Geia built in 1968 but the problem is the car cable to open up the hood is broken. Is there another way I can get it open? Please easy 10 points!
Oh ya the i can't get the the cable so i need a way to get the hood open.
Since there is no grill I would guess you did not try that last answer.
You will probably have to take the hood release cable out and find the break in the inner cable wire. Try cutting the outer cable housing with a side cutter. Make sure you only apply enough pressure to separate the outer cable without cutting through the inner wire. Then carefully snip the outer housing where you have separated it. Grab the exposed inner wire with a vice grip and pull it open.
